How to Setup IPTV on Windows PC

Watch live TV, movies and series on your Windows computer using IPTV Smarters Pro or VLC Player. This guide covers both methods step by step.

Windows PCs support IPTV through two main options: a dedicated IPTV player like IPTV Smarters Pro, or a general media player like VLC. IPTV Smarters offers a more organized experience with EPG and categories, while VLC is a simple, lightweight alternative that works with just an M3U link.

Before you start, make sure you have:

A Windows 10 or 11 computer
A stable internet connection (at least 15-20 Mbps recommended)
Your OTTOcean login details (Xtream Codes or M3U link)

Method 1: Using IPTV Smarters Pro

IPTV Smarters Pro is the most complete option for Windows, with organized categories, EPG support, and a clean interface.

Step 1: Download IPTV Smarters Pro

Go to the official IPTV Smarters website and download the Windows version of the app, or search for it through a trusted source.

Step 2: Install the App

Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation on your PC.

Step 3: Log In with Xtream Codes API

Open IPTV Smarters Pro and select Login with Xtream Codes API. Enter the following details:

Server URL: Your OTTOcean server address
Username: Your OTTOcean username
Password: Your OTTOcean password

These details are sent to you by email or WhatsApp shortly after your subscription is activated.

Step 4: Start Watching

Once logged in, your channels, movies, series and EPG will load automatically. Browse the categories and start streaming.

Method 2: Using VLC Player

VLC is a free, widely available media player that works with a simple M3U playlist link — no account creation required inside the app itself.

Step 1: Download and Install VLC

Download VLC Media Player from the official VideoLAN website and install it on your Windows PC if you don't already have it.

Step 2: Open Network Stream

Open VLC, click Media in the top menu, then select Open Network Stream.

Step 3: Paste Your M3U Link

Paste your OTTOcean M3U playlist URL into the network URL field and click Play.

Note: VLC plays one channel stream at a time and does not organize channels into categories like IPTV Smarters does. For a full channel list with EPG, IPTV Smarters Pro is the better option.

Troubleshooting

Channels Won't Load

Double-check your username, password, server URL, or M3U link for typos.
Make sure your internet connection is stable.
Restart the app and try again.

Buffering or Freezing

Use a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi when possible.
Close other apps or downloads using bandwidth in the background.
