How to set up IPTV on a MAG box

MAG boxes log in with a portal URL linked to the box's MAC address. Send us the MAC, type the portal in System Settings, restart — done.

How MAG login works

MAG boxes do not use usernames and passwords. Instead, your provider registers the box's MAC address on its server, and the box connects to a portal URL. The portal then shows the channel list, guide and VOD in the MAG interface.

Step by step

  1. Find your MAG box MAC address

    It is printed on the sticker under the box and shown in Settings → System information. It starts with 00:1A:79.

  2. Send us the MAC address

    Message it to us on WhatsApp with your order or trial request. We register it and reply with your portal URL.

  3. Open Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals

    On the MAG home screen press Settings (or SETUP on the remote), then open Servers and Portals.

  4. Enter the portal URL

    In Portal 1 name type any name, e.g. Ottoceean. In Portal 1 URL type the portal address exactly as we sent it. Press OK to save.

  5. Restart the box

    Go back and choose Restart portal, or unplug the box for 10 seconds. The portal loads with your channels.

Backup portal

You can add a second portal in Portal 2 as a backup. If portal 1 fails, the box tries portal 2.

MAG box tips

  • Update the firmware in Settings → Software update; old firmware causes portal errors.
  • Use the Ethernet port — MAG boxes are designed for cable and many have no Wi-Fi.
  • Buffer size: Settings → Playback → Buffer size → a few seconds can smooth playback.
  • Time zone: set it in Settings so the EPG lines up.

Frequently asked questions

Which MAG boxes work with IPTV?

All current and most older MAG models: MAG 322, 324, 410, 424, 425, 520, 524 and others. Newer models are faster and support HEVC.

Why does my MAG box say "portal not found" or "STB blocked"?

The portal URL has a typo, the MAC address is not registered yet, or the line has expired. Double-check the URL and message support with your MAC.

Can I use a MAG portal on other devices?

Formuler boxes (MyTVOnline) and STB emulator apps use the same portal method. For phones and TVs, Xtream Codes login is simpler.
